Selection and Use

The T4000 harness supplied with this kit uses mating-buckle leg straps, not tongue buckles. The roof anchor must be attached to an appropriate structural member with the exact fasteners and installation method required by Miller. Do not assume roof decking alone provides the necessary anchorage strength. Assess pitch, access, edges, swing falls and rescue arrangements before work starts.

Standards and Safety

A roofing kit does not automatically make every roof setup OSHA compliant. Apply the construction fall-protection requirements to the complete installation, and check every component’s label for its capacity and service limits. The 50-foot rope length is not a free-fall allowance or a guarantee of adequate clearance. Keep the rope grab correctly oriented and follow the specified adjustment procedure.

Employers must select compatible components, provide training and plan for prompt rescue. OSHA 1926.502 addresses construction fall-protection systems; OSHA 1910.140 applies to general-industry personal fall protection. These are employer requirements, not OSHA product approvals.
