Industrial Bump Caps

Minor Impact, Low-Clearance Work Areas Head Protection

Compare lightweight industrial bump caps for minor bumps in automotive maintenance, assembly, food processing, warehouses, facility maintenance, pest control, crawl spaces, and other low-clearance work areas. Review suspension, ventilation, size range, cleaning requirements, available colors, and bulk quantities before ordering.

Select a safety bump cap according to the workplace hazard assessment and the product manufacturer's instructions. The current ventilated bump cap includes a four-point pin-lock suspension, washable suspension, side vents, and an adjustable fit for head sizes 6½ through 7¾.

Important safety distinction: Bump caps are intended for minor contact with stationary objects. They are not ANSI Z89.1-rated industrial hard hats and must not be used where falling or flying objects, electrical hazards, or other conditions require a rated protective helmet. OSHA requires employers to provide appropriate protective helmets where falling-object or electrical head hazards are present.

Choose a Bump Cap by Hazard, Fit and Work Environment

Low-Clearance Bump ProtectionUse only where the assessed hazard involves incidental contact with fixed objects such as shelving, piping, vehicle components, or low overhead structures.
Ventilation, Fit and SuspensionCompare vent placement, head-size range, adjustment method, suspension design, stability, and comfort for the worker and task.
Cleaning and Workplace HygieneReview shell and suspension cleaning instructions for food processing, shared PPE programs, maintenance crews, and other hygiene-sensitive operations.
Bump Cap vs. Industrial Hard HatChoose a rated hard hat or safety helmet when the hazard assessment identifies falling objects, flying objects, electrical contact, or another hazard beyond minor bumps.
