PAPRs are air-purifying respirators and must not be used in oxygen-deficient or immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH) atmospheres. Required workplace use must follow OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, the manufacturer’s approval label and instructions, and the employer’s written respiratory-protection program.
