Food Processing PPE
Control Contamination and Worker Hazards Across Every Production Zone
Food processing PPE should support the facility’s hygiene controls while protecting employees from the hazards of production, sanitation, maintenance, packaging, cold rooms, and material handling. Select gloves, garments, hair restraints, aprons, footwear, and other equipment around the task, food-contact status, contamination risk, cleaning chemicals, temperature, and physical hazards.
Raw-product areas, ready-to-eat zones, washdown operations, cutting stations, freezers, and packaging lines may require different colors, materials, coverage, change frequencies, and storage practices. Coordinate PPE with the facility’s hazard analysis, sanitation procedures, allergen controls, and cross-contamination rules.
Selection note: HACCP is a facility food-safety system, not a blanket PPE certification. Confirm direct food-contact suitability, material limitations, chemical compatibility, cut ratings, laundering or disposal procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements for each product and task.
