Emergency Response PPE
Organize Emergency PPE by Incident Type, Exposure and Responder Role
Emergency response PPE must be selected for the incident, known or suspected hazards, responder assignment, exposure route, environmental conditions, and response plan. Hazmat entry, spill control, emergency medical work, decontamination, evacuation support, and recovery operations can require very different protective systems.
Coordinate protective clothing, respiratory equipment, gloves, eye and face protection, head protection, footwear, gas detection, and first-aid resources before an incident occurs. Equipment should be compatible, inspected, maintained, and issued only to personnel trained for the assigned response function.
Response limitation: Products on this page are not automatically suitable for structural firefighting, unknown atmospheres, oxygen-deficient spaces, CBRN incidents, or immediately dangerous to life or health conditions. Use the emergency-response plan, hazard assessment, current manufacturer instructions, verified certifications, medical evaluation, fit testing, and applicable regulatory requirements to select equipment.
