Selection and System Compatibility

Use only the approved tie-back method and a compatible structure. The manual describes the protected webbing wrapping around the anchorage, with the tie-back hook secured around the webbing. Avoid sharp or abrasive surfaces. Allow for the length used in the wrap; the 9 ft working length is not a promise of 9 ft reach after installation. This single-leg unit does not provide twin-leg transfer capability.

Manufacturer-Listed Standards

DFP lists ANSI Z359.14-2021 Class 1 Personal, with 130–310 lb ANSI and 130–420 lb OSHA-use ranges under its instructions. Tie-back capability does not establish leading-edge or foot-level approval. Keep anchorage at or above dorsal D-ring height and follow the manual’s clearance and loading restrictions.

Inspection and Safety

Read the instructions before use. Inspect equipment before each use, remove damaged or fall-loaded equipment from service, and arrange prompt rescue. Follow applicable OSHA construction fall-protection requirements or general-industry personal fall-protection requirements.

FAQ

Does tie-back mean leading-edge rated?

No. This is a Class 1 tie-back SRL; the approved connection method does not establish leading-edge performance.

Can I use any snap hook for a tie-back connection?

No. Only equipment specifically designed and instructed for tie-back may be used that way.
