Choose Indoor/Outdoor Lenses for the Lighting

The 11345 indoor/outdoor mirror lens is different from the clear-lens Metaliks Sport 11343. It has a fixed tint, so it does not automatically change from clear to dark. Check that it allows enough light for the details, controls and walking surfaces you need to see.

Indoor/outdoor labeling does not mean the lens is right for every location. A clear lens may be more suitable in dim work areas, while bright outdoor conditions may call for a different tint. Lens color alone does not establish protection against welding radiation, lasers or other specialized light hazards.

Eye Protection Standards

3M's published Metaliks Sport specifications identify the high-impact requirements of ANSI Z87.1-2003 and CSA Z94.3-2007. These are the documented editions for this model; confirm the markings and instructions on the supplied eyewear rather than assuming a newer certification.

OSHA 29 CFR 1910.133 — Eye and face protection requires employers to select suitable protection for workplace eye hazards, including side protection where flying objects are present. OSHA does not approve individual glasses. Add goggles or face protection when required by the hazard assessment.

Fit, Inspection and Care

Check fit with other required PPE before starting work. Inspect lenses, temples and the nose bridge regularly. Replace eyewear with damage or scratches that interfere with visibility.     I bought these cause they looked cool in the picture and I didn't really expect much because the price is "to good to be true". But these are awesome, they look so cool and they can take a hit! I left them on the roof of my truck and drove off and heard them drop into the back of my pick up. When I stopped and got them they had no scratches. Awesome!
