Common Uses & Applications
For assessed hazards in manufacturing, chemical handling, facility maintenance, construction and oil and gas operations. Sanding and grinding require suitable particulate filters; painting, coating and chemical work may require gas/vapor cartridges or combination protection. Neither full-face coverage nor a task name establishes protection against every chemical.
Compatibility and Configuration
Use only approved North N-Series components in the combinations specified by the applicable NIOSH approval. The facepiece alone provides no contaminant filtration. Do not substitute other brands or bayonet cartridges. Honeywell lists approved PAPR and continuous-flow supplied-air configurations, but these require separate compatible equipment; this listing is not a complete powered or supplied-air system.
OSHA Respiratory Protection Requirements
Required use must follow OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, including medical evaluation, training, fit testing and a written respiratory protection program. An assigned protection factor of 50 in negative-pressure full-face use requires quantitative fit testing and an effective program. Qualitative fit testing limits use to exposures no greater than 10 times the permissible exposure limit.
Complete a user seal check every time the mask is donned. Facial hair and eyewear must not interfere with the seal. Do not use the air-purifying configuration in oxygen-deficient, unknown or immediately dangerous to life or health atmospheres. Apply any stricter substance-specific requirements.
Inspection and Cartridge Replacement
Inspect the lens, seal, straps, valves and connections before use. Clean, maintain and store according to manufacturer instructions. Gas/vapor cartridges require an appropriate approved end-of-service-life indicator or an objective change schedule; odor alone is not a reliable replacement method.

Which model numbers have the 5-point harness?
The manufacturer lists RU65001S for Small, RU65001M for Medium and RU65001L for Large. Mesh-headnet versions use different model numbers.
Does the lens rating cover every eye hazard?
No. High-impact performance does not establish suitability for every splash, radiation or welding hazard. Select any additional protection through the workplace hazard assessment.
