Manufacturing, chemical-processing and oil and gas operations must evaluate the specific substances and concentrations. A task name or solvent smell alone cannot establish that this cartridge is appropriate.
Organic Vapor Cartridge or Particulate Filter?
N75001L is an organic vapor cartridge without an integral particulate filter. It does not independently provide N95 or P100 filtration for dust, mist or fumes. Jobs involving both vapors and particles require an approved cartridge/filter combination. It is not an acid gas, ammonia or universal gas cartridge. Confirm the complete assembly against the manufacturer’s approval label before use.
OSHA Requirements and Cartridge Replacement
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 requires an appropriate respiratory protection program for required workplace use, including hazard-based selection, medical evaluation, fit testing for tight-fitting facepieces, training and maintenance. Perform a user seal check every time the respirator is donned.
For gas/vapor cartridges without an appropriate end-of-service-life indicator, OSHA requires a change schedule based on objective information or data that ensures replacement before the end of service life. Do not rely on odor as the replacement schedule. If breakthrough, irritation or leakage occurs, leave the contaminated area and investigate before returning. These cartridges do not supply oxygen and are not for oxygen-deficient or IDLH atmospheres.

Can these cartridges be used for painting?
Only when the coating ingredients and exposure assessment support their use. Spray mist needs appropriate particulate filtration; some coating hazards require a different respiratory system.
