Selection and Use
Fit the M/L harness to the individual worker and verify adjustment before use. Heat-resistant webbing is not immune to burns, weld spatter or chemical damage. Inspect the webbing, stitching, buckles, rings, labels and indicators before each use. Remove damaged or fall-loaded equipment from service according to 3M’s instructions.
Standards and Safety
The model-specific 3M declaration lists ANSI Z359.11-2014. The manufacturer’s harness instructions distinguish an ANSI total user range of 130–310 lb from an OSHA maximum of 420 lb. Those figures include clothing, tools and equipment, and the connected system may impose a lower limit. Do not describe 420 lb as the ANSI capacity.
Employers must select compatible components, provide training and plan for prompt rescue. OSHA 1926.502 addresses construction fall-protection systems; OSHA 1910.140 applies to general-industry personal fall protection. These are employer requirements, not OSHA product approvals.

Can the hip D-rings arrest a fall?
No. Use the designated dorsal connection for fall arrest. Hip rings support work positioning with the appropriate equipment.
Is this an arc-flash protective garment?
No arc rating is established by the cited harness documents. Assess electrical and thermal PPE requirements separately.
Is this a confined-space retrieval harness?
Do not assume retrieval approval. The harness and complete rescue system must be explicitly suitable for the intended application.
