The 3M 6000 Series full facepiece reusable respirator combines a silicone face seal, polycarbonate lens and bayonet-style filter connections for occupational use. It is a reusable option for maintenance crews, manufacturing facilities and contractors managing assessed airborne exposures. Filters and cartridges are sold separately. The facepiece alone does not remove airborne contaminants.

Common Uses & Applications
Potential applications include assessed exposures during painting, coating, manufacturing and facility maintenance. Chemical handling and remediation require contaminant-specific selection, including any substance-specific rules. Do not treat the facepiece as a universal spill-response respirator; unknown concentrations and emergency conditions may require a different system.
Filter Selection and Eye Protection
Use only approved 3M cartridge/filter combinations listed for the facepiece. Particulate filters address particles; gas/vapor cartridges address specified contaminants. Mixed hazards may require combination cartridges or additional approved filters and retainers. Physical attachment alone does not establish compatibility.
3M lists ANSI Z87.1 high-impact performance for the lens. This does not establish suitability for every chemical splash or other eye hazard. Select protection for the complete task and check compatibility with other PPE. Ordinary eyeglass temples must not interfere with the face seal.
OSHA Fit Testing and Protection Limits
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 requires an appropriate respiratory protection program for required workplace use, including medical evaluation, training and fit testing before initial use and at least annually.
In negative-pressure air-purifying use, a full-facepiece assigned protection factor of 50 requires quantitative fit testing and an effective program. Qualitative fit testing limits use to exposures no greater than 10 times the exposure limit. Cartridge-specific and substance-specific restrictions may further limit use. These figures are not filtration percentages.
Perform a user seal check each time the respirator is donned. Facial hair must not disrupt the seal. Air-purifying use does not supply oxygen and is not suitable for oxygen-deficient or IDLH atmospheres.
Care and Manufacturer Documentation
Inspect before use, clean according to 3M instructions and replace damaged parts. Remove filters and cartridges before washing the facepiece; do not immerse them. Follow the workplace cartridge change schedule.
