Touchscreen Compatibility and Grip
Test the gloves with your actual scanner, phone or tablet before issuing them across a crew. Screen protectors, device settings, fit and fingertip wear can affect response. Touchscreen compatibility does not guarantee operation with every device or application.
Choose a fit that places the conductive tips against your fingertips without excess fabric. Check tapping, swiping and the controls used during the task. Evaluate grip on actual cartons, parts and device housings; moisture, oil and contamination can change how the dotted surface handles a load.
Applicable OSHA Hand Protection Requirements
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.138 requires employers to select hand protection for identified hazards based on glove performance, tasks, conditions and exposure duration. OSHA 1910.132(d) requires hazard assessment and properly fitting PPE. These rules establish employer duties, not OSHA certification of this glove.
Cold-Weather Selection and Limits
The manufacturer describes IP3DB as a low-temperature glove, but its datasheet gives no minimum temperature, safe exposure duration or EN 511 rating. Select protection according to the cold exposure and work cycle. Do not assume this lightweight knit is adequate for prolonged freezer work or contact with frozen surfaces.
The sheet provides no ANSI cut, puncture or abrasion classification. Conductive fingertips do not establish electrical insulation or ESD protection. For sharp materials, compare cut-resistant gloves with documented performance for the task.
Workers should follow equipment rules about glove use near rotating parts. Touchscreen access is useful only when device interaction is permitted during the task; stop in a safe position before entering inventory information.
