Thermal Glove Liners
HandFortress thermal glove liners provide a lightweight layer beneath suitable work gloves for cold-weather tasks. ASA lists polyester construction, moisture-wicking fabric, and a seamless design for this product. Use the liner as part of a glove combination selected for the work, exposure conditions, and required hand protection.
Key features
- Moisture-wicking fabric
- Lightweight construction for layering
- Seamless design
- Flexible hand coverage
Common uses
- Layering for refrigerated workplaces
- Cold-weather warehouse tasks
- Outdoor winter work
- Use beneath suitable insulated gloves
Check the fit of both layers
Try the liner and outer glove together before issuing them for work. Check fingertip space, grip, and the ability to operate permitted controls. Avoid combinations that bunch material or restrict movement. A liner that fits by itself may change how an outer glove fits.
For freezer work, assess the complete glove combination against temperature, exposure time, moisture, and contact with cold materials. Adding a liner does not establish a new tested temperature rating for the outer glove.
OSHA hand protection requirements
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.138 requires appropriate hand protection for identified hazards, including harmful temperature extremes. Selection must consider protective performance, the task, conditions, and duration of use.
OSHA 1910.132(d) requires workplace hazard assessment and PPE that properly fits each employee. Assess the fit and function of the liner and outer glove together. These requirements do not constitute OSHA approval of this product.
OSHA's cold-environment hand protection interpretation provides additional context for selecting protection against cold exposure.
Inspection and replacement
Check liners for holes, damaged seams, contamination, and changes in fit before reuse. Follow the supplied care instructions rather than assuming a washing temperature or drying method. Keep clean, dry spare liners available when work conditions may leave the fabric damp.
Replace wet layers as part of the workplace cold-stress plan. If the glove combination interferes with a secure grip or control operation, stop and reassess the fit before continuing the task.
Cold-stress prevention
NIOSH cold-stress guidance recommends protecting the hands, wearing appropriate layers, taking breaks in warm locations, and carrying spare gloves. This is prevention guidance, not a product certification or a guarantee of safe exposure time.
Thermal Glove Liner FAQ
Can I use these liners alone in a freezer?
Do not assume they provide sufficient protection by themselves. The employer must assess the cold exposure and select suitable hand protection.
Do liners increase an outer glove's certified rating?
No combined rating is established here. Confirm compatibility and performance rather than adding ratings or assuming the layered combination has been tested.
Does food-processing use establish food-contact compliance?
No. Follow facility hygiene procedures and use appropriate food-contact gloves where required. This listing does not establish food-contact certification.
