What N95 filtration means

N95 identifies a particulate filter classification with at least 95 percent filtration efficiency under NIOSH test conditions. The N designation means the filter is not resistant to oil. This is a filter performance classification, not a promise that every wearer receives the same protection regardless of fit.

Air can bypass the filter if the facepiece does not seal correctly. Choose the respirator through the workplace assessment, complete the required fit testing, and follow the instructions every time it is worn. A loose fit cannot be corrected by relying on the filtration percentage printed on the package.

Shell and nose bridge construction

Moldex describes the Dura-Mesh shell as resisting collapse in heat and humidity. The facepiece includes a molded nose bridge and soft nose cushion without a metal noseband to shape. Follow the fitting instructions for this design rather than using directions written for a different respirator.

The shell's shape retention does not remove the need to inspect the respirator or replace it when required. Comfort also varies by wearer and working conditions. Fit testing and daily seal checks

When workplace respirator use is required, OSHA calls for an appropriate respiratory protection program, including medical evaluation, training, and fit testing. A user seal check is a separate step performed each time the respirator is put on. Follow Moldex's instructions and do not enter the contaminated area if a proper seal cannot be achieved. Inspection, storage, and replacement

Inspect the entire respirator before use, including its filter material and strap attachment areas. Leave the contaminated area and replace it if it becomes damaged or distorted, breathing becomes difficult, or a proper fit cannot be obtained. Do not wash, modify, or attempt to repair a disposable filtering facepiece.

Store unused respirators in their box or bag in a clean, dry, uncontaminated location. Check the printed use-by date before issuing stock. Apply the manufacturer's time limits and your employer's disposal procedures; a durable shell does not establish an unlimited service life or a guaranteed number of shifts.

Consumption depends on the number of users, tasks, replacement criteria, and your respiratory protection program.

Keep the approved model and size attached to each reorder. Similar appearance or the same N95 classification does not make two models interchangeable for an individual wearer.
