Allegro 2041 Bitrex Respirator Fit Test Kit
The Allegro 2041 Bitrex respirator fit test kit uses denatonium benzoate bitter-taste solution for qualitative fit testing of eligible disposable and reusable particulate respirators. Its manual nebulizers, reusable hood and separate sensitivity and test solutions support trained administrators conducting the OSHA Bitrex protocol. Results are pass/fail; the kit does not measure a numerical fit factor.

Common Uses & Applications
For N95 and other eligible particulate respirator fit testing in healthcare, manufacturing, construction, maintenance and municipal safety programs. Supports initial testing, annual testing and retesting when changes affect fit. Administrators must select a method appropriate to the respirator and required protection level.
OSHA Bitrex Fit Testing Requirements
Follow OSHA 1910.134 Appendix A, Part I.B.4. Sensitivity screening first establishes whether the wearer can detect the bitter taste. Anyone unable to detect it must use another suitable fit test method. Keep sensitivity and test solutions in their designated nebulizers.
The wearer must not eat, drink anything except plain water, smoke or chew gum for 15 minutes before testing. Follow the complete protocol for aerosol generation and exercises. Tasting Bitrex during the fit test means failure; stop and follow the required refitting and retesting procedure.
Protection Limits and Program Requirements
Under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, qualitative testing of negative-pressure air-purifying respirators is limited to uses at no more than 10 times the permissible exposure limit. Full-face respirators intended for APF 50 use require quantitative testing.
Fit testing does not replace medical evaluation, training, hazard assessment or a written respiratory protection program. Users must perform a seal check each time they put on a tight-fitting respirator. Clean and inspect the kit according to manufacturer instructions, and review both solution safety data sheets.

FAQ
Can this kit be used for N95 fit testing?
Yes, when qualitative testing is appropriate and the wearer passes Bitrex sensitivity screening. Follow the full OSHA protocol.
Does it include the deluxe pump or hard case?
No. This listing is for the manual Allegro 2041 kit, not the discontinued 2041-DLX.
Are sensitivity and test solutions interchangeable?
No. They serve different steps and have different concentrations. Use each only as directed.
