The Mustang Survival MV1254 T1 Industrial Mesh Flotation Vest is a commercial personal flotation device designed for marine, dock, utility, public safety and industrial crews working on or near water. Its bright orange shell and 32 square inches of SOLAS reflective tape across the front and back help improve worker visibility during daytime, low-light and marine operations.

Large armholes and mesh shoulders promote airflow, mobility and comfort for workers who need to bend, reach, climb and handle equipment. Side adjustments support dual sizing, while two large front pockets with hook-and-loop closures provide convenient storage for small work essentials.

The updated design includes a rear pass-through for use with compatible fall-arrest harness systems. Harness and flotation compatibility must be confirmed as part of the employer’s complete fall-protection and water-safety program.

Approval varies by size. S/M, L/XL and 2XL/3XL sizes are approved to the Harmonized Level 70 standard through the U.S. Coast Guard and Transport Canada. The 4XL/5XL size retains UL1123 USCG Type III approval and is offered only in the United States.

Bulk Ordering & Procurement Support

Safety Note

Select personal flotation devices according to applicable USCG or Transport Canada requirements, workplace hazards, water conditions, rescue availability, vessel requirements and employer safety procedures.

The rear harness pass-through does not automatically confirm compatibility with every fall-arrest harness or system. Verify the complete configuration with the equipment manufacturers and your qualified safety professional. Inspect each vest before use and remove damaged, contaminated or deteriorated equipment from service.

This is not a Type I offshore life jacket and should not be represented as equipment that guarantees an unconscious wearer will be turned face-up.

Buying Guide: Industrial Mesh PFD vs. Type I Life Jacket

Choose the Mustang MV1254 T1 when workers need flotation, ventilation, mobility, reflective visibility, front storage and compatibility with an appropriately configured fall-arrest harness.

Choose a Type I life jacket when the applicable marine operation requires offshore flotation or performance intended to help turn certain unconscious wearers face-up.

Choose a specialized Type V work vest when the job requires a particular occupational design or approval. Type V devices must be selected and used according to the conditions stated on their labels.

Always base the decision on regulatory requirements, water conditions, expected rescue time and a documented workplace hazard assessment. Compare this model with our USCG-approved Type III commercial flotation vest for another ventilated work-zone PFD option.

FAQ

What is the Mustang MV1254 T1 used for?

It is an industrial flotation vest for workers operating on or near water, including marine construction, docks, ports, bridges, barges, utilities and public works.

Is the MV1254 T1 USCG approved?

Yes, but the approval designation varies by size. S/M through 2XL/3XL are Harmonized Level 70. The US-only 4XL/5XL size retains UL1123 USCG Type III approval.

How much buoyancy does it provide?

Mustang lists the vest at 69 N, or approximately 15.5 pounds, of buoyancy.

Can it be worn with a fall-protection harness?

The updated model includes a rear pass-through for fall-arrest harness compatibility. The complete harness and PFD configuration must still be reviewed for compatibility and proper operation.

Is this an ANSI high-visibility safety vest?

No. The vest has a bright orange shell and SOLAS reflective tape, but Mustang does not identify this model as ANSI/ISEA 107-compliant high-visibility apparel.

Does the vest include pockets?

Yes. It has two large front pockets with hook-and-loop closures.

Is this a Type I life jacket?

No. Do not use it as a replacement when the operation specifically requires a Type I offshore life jacket.

What sizes are available?

Available sizes are S/M, L/XL, 2XL/3XL and 4XL/5XL. The 4XL/5XL variant is offered only in the United States.
