Tillman® Green Cotton Flame Resistant Coveralls – Protection for Light-Duty Welding
Tillman 6900 green flame-resistant cotton coveralls provide torso, arm and leg coverage for light-duty welding. The garment uses 9 oz. Westex FR7A cotton with snap closures. It is a practical option for fabrication shops, maintenance departments and welding training programs where the assessed exposure is within the garment’s intended use.

Fabric Testing and Protection Limits
Tillman lists the cotton fabric as meeting ASTM D6413-10. This vertical-flame test evaluates fabric behavior; it does not by itself establish an arc rating or certify the finished garment to NFPA 2112. No arc rating is provided on the 6900 product page. Do not select it as electrical arc-flash clothing based on the FR wording alone.
Fit and Laundering
Select the available size with sufficient room to work over the intended clothing layers. Check reach, bending and knee movement with closures secured. Keep pockets free of items that could increase exposure or interfere with the task.
Care Instructions
Use detergent without chlorine bleach or peroxide; avoid fabric softener and starch. Follow the garment label and Tillman’s linked care instructions. Tillman states flame resistance is maintained for up to 50 home washings or 25 commercial washings under its specified conditions. Replace damaged or contaminated clothing rather than relying on wash count alone.
Applicable Welding Safety Requirements
OSHA 1910.252(b)(3) requires protective clothing appropriate to the size, nature and location of welding work. OSHA 1910.132 covers hazard assessment, PPE selection, fit and training. These workplace rules do not provide an OSHA product certification.
Manufacturer Documents

FAQ
Are these coveralls arc-flash rated?
No arc rating is documented for the 6900 on the manufacturer page. An FR fabric test alone is insufficient for arc-flash selection.
Are they intended for heavy welding spatter?
Tillman specifies light-duty welding. Choose clothing documented for the exposure when conditions exceed that use.
Can the coveralls be washed?
Yes. Follow the supplied label and the linked FR7A care instructions; incorrect laundering can affect flame resistance.
