Verified Cut and Mechanical Ratings
The manufacturer specification sheet lists ANSI/ISEA 105-2016 Cut Level A4 with a reported result of 2,078 grams. A4 is a laboratory performance classification, not a guarantee against injury or the highest available cut level.
Cordova’s product page also lists EN 388: 4532: abrasion 4, circular-blade cut 5, tear 3 and puncture 2. The circular-blade result uses a different method from ANSI classification; EN cut Level 5 does not mean ANSI A5. No hypodermic-needle rating is established.
Applicable OSHA Requirements
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.138 requires suitable hand protection selected for identified hazards, performance, task conditions and exposure duration. OSHA 1910.132(d) requires workplace hazard assessment and properly fitting PPE. These requirements do not constitute OSHA certification of this glove.
Choosing the Right Glove
Compare cut-resistant gloves by the same test standard, required coverage and fit. A higher cut rating may be appropriate for a different task, but the number alone does not address impact, chemicals or heat. Trial the selected size with typical workplace parts and handheld tools, checking whether workers can grasp, release and reposition materials without excess fabric interfering with control.
Coverage, Fit and Care
Three-quarter nitrile coverage leaves part of the knit shell exposed. Do not treat this glove as waterproof or as a chemical barrier. Test grip with representative materials; oil, moisture and coating wear can change handling performance.
Check fingertip room and palm fit before issuing gloves. Inspect the shell, coating and seams before use and replace damaged gloves. Cordova specifies washing with commercial laundry detergent at no more than 50°C/122°F. Air dry or tumble dry without heat; do not use bleach to disinfect.
