H10P3E Helmet Attachment Earmuffs | NRR 27 dB | Hard Hat Compatible
3M PELTOR Optime 105 H10P3E cap-mount earmuffs provide passive hearing protection for workers who need compatible head protection and earmuffs together. This hard-hat-attached model carries a U.S. Noise Reduction Rating of 27 dB. It is intended for industrial and occupational use in construction, manufacturing, transportation maintenance and other noise-exposed operations.
The Optime 105 double-shell design helps control resonance within the cups. Soft foam-filled cushions surround the ears, while stainless steel components resist bending and warping. Select the H10P3E mounting style when it matches the hard hat used for the job; the H10A is a separate over-the-head model.

Hard-Hat Compatibility and Fit
Confirm the exact hard hat, slot and mounting arrangement before ordering. Do not assume compatibility with every slotted or full-brim helmet. Check the complete PPE combination, including eyewear and respirator straps, because anything crossing the cushion seal can reduce attenuation.
Position both cups fully over the ears and maintain a continuous seal during hazardous noise exposure. A cup moved away from the ear does not provide its rated protection. Inspect the cushions, inserts and mounting components regularly and replace damaged or deteriorated parts according to 3M instructions.
OSHA Requirements and NIOSH Guidance
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.95 requires employers to evaluate hearing-protector attenuation for the noise environment and provide appropriate fitting and training. OSHA 1926.101 addresses construction hearing protection. Purchasing this earmuff alone does not establish compliance.
NRR is a laboratory rating, not a guaranteed 27 dB reduction for every wearer. NIOSH recommends individual quantitative fit testing to determine personal attenuation. Use measured exposure and fit results when selecting protection; do not simply add earplug and earmuff ratings for dual protection.

FAQ
Does “Optime 105” mean safe use at every 105 dB workplace?
No. The series name is not a universal exposure limit. Protection must be selected for the measured noise and individual fit.
Is the H10P3E rated NRR 29 or 30?
No. 3M lists this hard-hat-attached model at NRR 27 dB. Other attachment styles have different ratings.
Is 3M’s ten-unit case the ASA selling quantity?
No. This ASA listing is sold by the pair; the manufacturer’s outer-case quantity is separate.
