Choose Corded or Uncorded
Select “No Cord” for 312-1261 or “Cord” for 312-1260. The corded model connects the two plugs with a vinyl cord. Follow site rules on cords near moving equipment. Both versions require correct insertion and consistent wear throughout hazardous noise exposure.

Understand NRR 33 dB
The labeled NRR is a laboratory rating, not a promise that every wearer receives 33 dB of noise reduction. Actual protection can be lower because fit and insertion technique vary. Do not simply subtract 33 from a workplace noise reading to decide whether exposure is adequately controlled.
3M recommends personal fit testing and reducing the NRR by 50% when estimating typical protection. Apply the relevant workplace guidance when assessing exposure. Purchasing these plugs alone does not establish compliance with a hearing conservation program.
Fit and Daily Use
Follow the supplied 3M fitting instructions with clean hands. Roll-down foam needs proper preparation, insertion and time to expand. If a comfortable seal cannot be achieved, seek another suitable size or model rather than assuming all foam plugs fit alike.
E-A-Rfit testing uses the appropriate modified, probed test plugs and system equipment; ordinary plugs in this box are not the test probes. Inspect earplugs before use and replace dirty, damaged or unsuitable plugs according to the supplied instructions and workplace procedures.
Keep unused pairs in their protective packaging until needed. Place supplies where workers can obtain replacements before entering the designated noise area. When comparing FX with other earplug models, consider wearer comfort, successful fit and the work routine alongside the published rating. A higher NRR does not guarantee better fit.
