Rubber Insulating Gloves for Electrical Work

Select voltage-rated gloves from the workplace electrical hazard assessment and the markings on the individual glove rather than from a general product description alone.

Electrical safety note: Leather protectors help guard rubber insulating gloves against mechanical damage but do not provide electrical insulation by themselves. OSHA requires rubber insulating gloves to be inspected before each day’s use and after any incident suspected of causing damage. Once issued, they must be electrically tested every six months, with additional testing required under specified conditions. Review 29 CFR 1910.137, the glove markings, current test date, manufacturer instructions, and your electrical safety program before use.

Class 0 Electrical Glove KitsChoose a kit when the task assessment calls for the glove class shown on the supplied rubber gloves and a coordinated package is preferred. Kits may combine rubber insulating gloves, leather protectors, and a canvas storage bag. Verify every included component before use.
Class 4 High-Voltage GlovesClass 4 rubber insulating gloves are intended for high-voltage electrical work within the class limitations. Confirm the glove marking, 36,000V AC maximum-use rating, Type I construction, size, condition, test status, and required protector before selection.
Leather Glove ProtectorsLeather protectors are worn over compatible rubber insulating gloves to help reduce cuts, abrasions, and other mechanical damage. Match the protector length, size, cuff, and manufacturer compatibility to the rubber glove system.
Inspection, Testing and StorageBefore issuing electrical gloves, confirm their class, type, test date, service history, visual condition, air-test results, and storage method. Do not use gloves with damage, contamination, an expired test status, or uncertain identification.
