Selecting the Clear S2110 Lens
MCR lists 90% visible light transmission for S2110. The clear lens suits tasks where a dark tint would reduce useful visibility. Assess lighting, labels and work details at the actual station before selecting eyewear for a crew.
Duramass is a scratch-resistant hard coating. S2110 is different from S2110AF, the clear version with UV-AF anti-fog treatment. Specify the complete model number on repeat orders so coating requirements are not lost when similar-looking products are stocked together.
Fit and Compatibility
The metal temples and soft sleeves provide adjustment and retention features, but the universal nose bridge does not guarantee fit for every wearer. Check stability during normal head movement and compatibility with hard hats, hearing protection and respirators.
Do not assume this standard frame fits over prescription glasses. Prescription users need protective eyewear that incorporates their prescription or fits over corrective lenses without disturbing either pair.
Safety Standards & OSHA Requirements
MCR's S21 manufacturer catalog lists ANSI Z87+ high-impact performance and states that the polycarbonate lens filters 99.9% of harmful UV rays. Verify the markings and instructions supplied with the eyewear. Clear lenses do not provide welding-filter or laser protection.
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.133 requires appropriate eye protection for workplace hazards, including side protection where flying objects present a risk. The employer's hazard assessment determines the required protection.
A Z87+ rating does not mean safety glasses alone are sufficient for every grinding or cutting task. Additional face protection may be required. These glasses are not sealed chemical-splash goggles.
