Understanding the Mechanical Ratings
SHOWA's 350 product page lists EN 388:2016+A1:2018 code 4132XX. The numerical results indicate abrasion Level 4, blade cut Level 1, tear Level 3 and puncture Level 2. The X positions do not establish an ISO 13997 cut level or a passed impact test.
This glove is intended for general-purpose work. Its abrasion rating should not be confused with high cut protection. The mechanical puncture result does not establish resistance to hypodermic needles. Sharp sheet metal, broken glass and mixed scrap require a separate assessment and appropriately selected protection.
OSHA Hand Protection Requirements
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.138 requires employers to select appropriate hand protection for identified hazards. Selection considers performance characteristics, tasks, workplace conditions and duration of use. The standard is an employer requirement, not OSHA certification of this glove.
Nitrile Grip and Exposure Limits
