OSHA Requirements and Complete Protection
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.335(a)(1)(i) requires protective equipment appropriate to electrical hazards and exposed body parts. For covered electric-power operations, 1910.269(l)(8) addresses arc and flame protection.
This jacket alone does not provide a complete CAT 4 ensemble. Select compatible lower-body clothing, head and face protection, gloves and other required PPE through the hazard assessment. The garment does not provide electrical insulation against shock. Its weather hood does not replace an arc-flash hood or face protection.
