What Standards This Product Category Meets

  • These garments are treated to be self-extinguishing, but are not necessarily arc-rated; check the label for FR certification.

  • Many styles are designed to meet or reference ANSI/ISEA 107 performance expectations when flame resistance is required alongside visibility. According to ANSI, a garment labelled “FR” must meet one of the designated test methods (e.g., ASTM F1506, ASTM F1891, ASTM F2302, etc.).

  • FRT treatment durability depends on care: harsh detergents or high-heat drying can degrade the chemical coating.

  • For true arc or flash-fire risk, choose garments that meet NFPA 2112, ASTM F1506, or similar “inherent FR” standards, which may be more appropriate.
