Hi Visibility Wear - Class II & III

Every work environment requires safety procedures to assure workers are safe from hazards a job can entail. Even in areas where there is no vehicle traffic such as sporting events added visibility can produce safer results in safety and coordination(photographers used our safety vest in the Nigeria vs Venezuela soccer match at Marlins Park). Work in roads with traffic add special challenges due to the uncontrolled nature of the general public being so close to the work site. Heavy machinery, congestion, road noise in road work zones present added safety issues.

The Department of Transportation along with other agencies provide rule implementation and implementation guidance of State Work Zone Safety and Mobility policies to help workers perform their jobs safely. Chapter 6 of The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices deal with pedestrian and worker safety and how to effectively take measures to accommodate pedestrian when affected by TTC zones. Section 6D.03 provides worker safety considerations for condition that constantly change when working on right of way, bridges and roadways. This can put workers in a higher degree of vulnerability on or near the roadway. This section states "All workers, including emergency responders, within the right-of-way who are exposed either to traffic (vehicles using the highway for purposes of travel) or to work vehicles and construction equipment within the TTC zone shall wear high-visibility safety apparel that meets the Performance Class 2 or 3 requirements of the ANSI/ISEA 107–2004 publication entitled "American National Standard for High-Visibility Safety Apparel and Headwear" (see Section 1A.11), or equivalent revisions, and labeled as meeting the ANSI 107-2004 standard performance for Class 2 or 3 risk exposure, except as provided in Paragraph 5. A person designated by the employer to be responsible for worker safety shall make the selection of the appropriate class of garment"
