Protective clothing is made of various materials including spunbond polypropylene, SMS, and olefin fabric that provide comfortable protection against dust, splashes, hazardous dry particles, asbestos, grease, and light chemicals. In this section you will also find disposable lab coats, aprons, and protective sleeve covers made from Tyvek or SMS material. PPE protective clothing (personal protective equipment) have some guidelines to be aware of. Spunbond ploypropylene fibers are used to make the non woven material for protective coveralls, bouffant caps, non skid shoe covers, and beard covers. These material are non-linting. Protective clothing made of this material will melt if exposed to open flame or high temperature substances; however, these material will not flare. Polypropylene lab coats, coverall with hoods, and bouffant caps are rot and mildew resistant. Tyvek coveralls are made for use where light chemical protection or splash or infection control protective wear barrier is deemed necassary. Ear loop procedure mask are also made of a heavier weight spun woven material with fog free and latex free properties that could be worn with visors or safety glasses.
